The Day My Snake Plant Grew Roots

Inspired by a snake plant sprouting roots in water, Arboré reflects on how true growth comes from strong foundations. Just like plants, our bodies thrive when rooted in balance — through grounding practices and tools like the Donut, designed to support stability and energy flow.

One day, I just wanted more green in my office. Plants always make a space feel alive, but I’ll admit—I’ve never been great at caring for them. Not because I neglected them, but because for some strange reason, the more attention I gave, the faster they seemed to die. Meanwhile, the ones I forgot about? Somehow, they thrived.

Take this little setup on my desk. I had a sweet photo plant and a snake plant, and one day I simply cut off a piece of the snake plant to decorate the room. I dropped it in a glass bowl with my two fuzzy moss ball pets. They’re ridiculously easy to care for, so I figured: why not?

I’d read somewhere on social media that snake plants can survive in water, though I never committed to caring for it in any serious way. Weeks passed. I barely noticed it. Then one morning—I saw it. A tiny root had sprouted.

That little root changed everything. It meant this snake plant wasn’t just surviving—it was finding its foundation, anchoring itself, and preparing to grow stronger.

And it struck me: roots are everything. They’re stability. They’re energy. Just like plants, our bodies and minds need roots to stay grounded. Through practices like yoga, stretching, and even activating pressure points, we nurture the deep foundations of our health. When our roots are clear and strong, our energy flows without blockage.

That’s what inspired me to create tools like the Donut. It’s designed to help your root energy move freely, so you feel stable, supported, and well—just like my little snake plant.

So here’s my reminder to you (and myself): sometimes growth doesn’t come from constant fussing. It comes from giving yourself space, grounding, and the right foundation to let your roots thrive.
